The Difference Between PG and VG in E-liquid.

0%

PG and VG relates to the thickness of your e-liquid, but many people may not understand just what exactly it means and how thick liquid should be with their chosen device. E-liquid consists of four main elements; nicotine, PG (Propylene Glycol), VG (Vegetable Glycerin) and of course flavouring.

Of course, nicotine and flavouring come hand in hand. Nicotine relates to the strength of the e-liquid and how much nicotine is in the liquid. The higher the nicotine percentage, the harsher the hit on your throat. Flavouring of course relates to how the e-liquid tastes.

VG is a thick, gloopy substance that provides dense clouds and provides a sweet taste to your e-liquid. If you see someone vaping who’s producing sun blocking clouds, chances are they’re vaping a liquid with a high VG percentage.

On the other hand, PG is a thinner liquid. PG offers a harsher throat hit and better replicates the traditional smoking experience. High PG e-liquid is often used in less powerful devices that provide you with a less harsh hit than a mod device.

In regards to finding what VG/PG is best for you, if you’re looking for dense clouds and powerful flavour then we would recommend that you use an e-liquid with at least 70% VG. High VG liquids are best suited to powerful mod devices. Using a high VG liquid in a smaller, less powerful device may burn your coil out quickly.

High PG liquids are best used in smaller, less powerful devices such as stick or pod devices. We would recommend that you use high PG e-liquid if you’re looking to replicate a hit from a cigarette.

50/50 VG and PG e-liquids are the most popular and are a versatile option. They can be used in all kinds of devices and provide a general experience of moderate taste and clouds. We recommend that you start off using a 50/50 liquid then if you feel the need to change make the decision depending on your desire.
